I haven't had a whole lot of time to research activities in the area, but snorkeling caught my fancy. Is there any location nearby that's good for that? - my Fodor's South Florida recommends Biscayne National Park, but that's clearly on the wrong side of the state for us (I'm finding the extent of the Everglades poses a small challenge in researching activities, as I spend considerable time wading through suggestions that turn out to be on the Miami side). On that note, any other suggestions within easy reach of Ivey House are welcome. A boat tour is clearly on the menu (my sister and I want to canoe or kayak, but no statistics will convince our dear old mum that we're not in serious danger from gators and snakes if we do that). I thought I'd stroll over to the Museum of the Everglades. Walking in the Fakahatchee or Collier-Seminole park also looks good. Please Help. Thanks ! I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
