In the standard WTA game system, a spec on an attribute or skill allows you to reroll any dice that land on the number ten. Most of the time, without a spec, all tens merely count as automatic successes and nothing else happens. We decided that specs need more weight than this, and that rolling a ten should be a more lucky circumstance.
Hence, this house rule comes into play. In our system, all dice that land on ten are rerolled, period. Any successes are added to the pool. Failures or botches do nothing. You either gain a bonus from the ten, or nothing happens. You can not take a penalty of any sort from rerolling a ten, so it's always a good idea to do it.
This system would make specs useless at worst, and flavor text at best. Luckily, we have a way around that as well. Any spec, instead of allowing a player to reroll tens in the situation it applies to, allows the player to add two additional dice to the dice pool in relevant situations.
